• Data at rest remains in source Region; only transient computation routes globally with end-to-end encryption
• Requires IAM policy configuration with three statements to enable cross-Region routing permissions
• Quotas measured in tokens per minute (TPM) and requests per minute (RPM) with 5:1 output token burndown rate
• CloudWatch alarms recommended at 70-80% quota utilization to prevent throttling
• Prompt caching delivers up to 90% cost reduction and 85% latency improvement for repeated context
• Model selection: Opus 4.6 for complex reasoning, Sonnet 4.6 for agent planning, Haiku 4.5 for cost-efficient high-volume operations
