This article announces a new Lambda event source mapping execution block for AWS Application Recovery Controller (ARC) Region Switch, automating failover of event streams in multi-Region applications.
- Automates coordinated failover of event streams for multi-Region event-driven workloads
- Eliminates manual toggling of Lambda event source mappings during Regional failover
- Supports Kinesis, DynamoDB Streams, MSK, and SQS event sources
- Prevents duplicate event processing with disable/enable block sequencing
- Supports "ungraceful" mode for unplanned failovers when Region is impaired
- Enables cross-account event stream failover with native support
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions
