ARC Region switch adds Amazon Aurora scaling and Amazon Neptune global database failover

News

This article announces three new execution blocks for AWS Application Recovery Controller (ARC) Region switch to automate database scaling and failover for multi-Region applications.

  • Amazon Aurora serverless scaling execution block automates secondary cluster scaling
  • Amazon Aurora provisioned scaling execution block automates provisioned cluster right-sizing
  • Amazon Neptune global database failover execution block automates switchover and failover
  • Reduces recovery time by eliminating manual scaling and scripting during failover
  • All three blocks support cross-account orchestration across multiple accounts and Regions
  • Available in all commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions

These new execution blocks streamline multi-Region database failover by automating scaling and failover operations, significantly reducing recovery time during Regional outages.
