This article announces six new idle resource recommendations in AWS Compute Optimizer to help identify and eliminate unused resources.
- Detects idle DynamoDB provisioned tables, ElastiCache, MemoryDB, DocumentDB, WorkSpaces, and SageMaker endpoints
- Uses CloudWatch metrics over 14-day lookback periods (63 days for WorkSpaces) to identify idle resources
- Displays estimated monthly savings for each idle resource recommendation
- Recommendations available in Compute Optimizer console and AWS Cost Optimization Hub
- Accessible via GetIdleRecommendations API and ListRecommendations API
- Recommendations generated within 24 hours after opting into Compute Optimizer
