Amazon RDS for SQL Server launches memory-optimized X2m database instances based on EC2 X2iedn instances with optimized CPU features.

  • Reduce SQL Server licensing costs by 50% or more compared to x2iedn instances
  • Offer up to 64 vCPUs, 4TB memory, 256K IOPS, and 32:1 memory-to-vCPU ratio
  • Modify existing instances or create new ones via RDS Management Console, AWS SDK, or CLI
  • Available with On-Demand pricing and AWS Database Savings Plan eligibility

X2m instances enable cost-effective memory-intensive SQL Server workloads with significant licensing savings.
