News
Amazon GameLift Servers introduces two container fleet improvements for enhanced flexibility and inter-container communication in game server deployments.
- Customize Linux capabilities for containers (NET_RAW, SYS_PTRACE) beyond Docker defaults
- New ListContainersNetworkInfo() SDK action retrieves network info for co-located containers
- Enables automatic service discovery between game servers and auxiliary services
- Available via console, AWS CLI, SDK, and CloudFormation
- Supported in server SDK 5.x for Go, C++, C# and Unreal Engine/Unity plugins
- Available in all AWS regions where GameLift Servers is supported except China
These capabilities provide game developers greater control over container permissions and simplified communication for containerized architectures.
