MSK Replicator now supports mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication for replication from external Apache Kafka clusters to MSK Express brokers
News
This article announces that Amazon MSK Replicator now supports mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication for replication from external Apache Kafka clusters to MSK Express brokers.
- Enables replication from on-premises, self-managed, or multi-cloud Kafka clusters to MSK Express
- Supports disaster recovery with MSK Express-based clusters as failover or backup targets
- Enables data distribution across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Retains original Kafka topic names during replication and prevents infinite replication loops
- Synchronizes consumer group offsets bidirectionally for independent producer/consumer migration
- Available in all AWS Regions where MSK Express brokers are available
MSK Replicator's mTLS support simplifies Kafka cluster migration and disaster recovery without managing custom replication infrastructure.
