Amazon ECS now supports configurable deployment circuit breaker settings

News

Amazon ECS now provides customizable deployment circuit breaker settings to control automatic rollback behavior during service deployments.

  • Set failure thresholds using fixed task count or percentage of desired tasks
  • Choose consecutive failure model (counter resets on healthy task) or cumulative model (failures accumulate)
  • Configure lower thresholds for faster rollbacks in development and test environments
  • Allow higher tolerance for applications with expected startup failures
  • Available across all AWS Regions where ECS operates
  • Configure via AWS Console, CLI, SDKs, CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform

Enhanced deployment circuit breaker settings enable fine-grained control over rollback behavior across different applications and environments.
