This article announces that Amazon EKS Provisioned Control Plane now delivers faster pod autoscaling by increasing Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) sync concurrency to up to 40 times the default Kubernetes value.
- HPA sync concurrency increased to process more HPA objects in parallel
- Reduces time between detecting load increases and scaling out pods
- Enables faster responsiveness to demand for HPA-driven workloads
- Available to all EKS Provisioned Control Plane customers with no configuration changes required
This enhancement improves autoscaling performance for clusters running hundreds or thousands of HPA objects.
