Amazon EKS now supports configuring advanced Kubernetes control plane parameters for the scheduler, controller manager, and API server to optimize cluster performance.

  • Tune pod placement strategies to improve resource utilization and node density
  • Adjust horizontal pod autoscaling response times to demand changes
  • Configure resource lifecycle parameters like event retention duration
  • Set scheduler's node resource fit strategy to MostAllocated or LeastAllocated
  • Available in all AWS Regions where Amazon EKS is available

Cluster administrators gain fine-grained control over Kubernetes control plane behavior to optimize workload placement and resource efficiency.
