Amazon GameLift Servers now supports 21 new EC2 instance types

This article announces that Amazon GameLift Servers now supports 21 additional EC2 instance types for managed fleets.

  • New instance types span six families: C8a, C8i, C9g (compute-optimized) and M8a, M8i, M9g (general-purpose)
  • Customers can choose between x86 and Arm architectures with 5th-gen AMD EPYC, Intel Xeon 6, or AWS Graviton5 processors
  • C-series instances optimize CPU-intensive multiplayer game server logic
  • M9g Graviton5-powered instances enable cost-effective general-purpose fleet scaling
  • Available in all GameLift Servers supported regions except AWS China

This expansion enables game developers to optimize server workloads for performance, cost, and engine compatibility.
