Amazon OpenSearch Service extends support timelines for legacy Elasticsearch and OpenSearch engine versions to provide customers additional migration planning time.
- Security and OS patch coverage extended 12 months through November 7, 2027 for Elasticsearch 1.5-7.8, OpenSearch 1.0-1.2, and OpenSearch 2.3-2.9
- Extended Support surcharge equals instance pricing from November 7, 2026; storage costs unaffected
- New Extended Support dates announced for Elasticsearch 6.8, 7.9, 7.10 and OpenSearch 1.3, 2.11-2.19
- Elasticsearch 6.8, 7.10 and OpenSearch 1.3, 2.19 receive 3 years Extended Support
- Elasticsearch 7.9 and OpenSearch 2.11-2.17 receive 1 year Extended Support at $0.0065 per NIH
