Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports customer managed keys
News
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports AWS KMS customer managed keys for encrypting data at rest in InfluxDB 2 and InfluxDB 3 resources.
- Encrypt InfluxDB 2 instances, Read Replicas, and InfluxDB 3 clusters with symmetric AWS KMS keys
- Select customer managed key during database resource creation
- Key must reside in same AWS account and Region as database resource
- Key cannot be changed after resource creation
- Available via AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, and Timestream for InfluxDB API
- Supported in all AWS Regions where Timestream for InfluxDB is available
- No additional Timestream charges; standard AWS KMS charges apply
This enhancement enables customers to manage encryption keys for their time-series databases with greater control and compliance flexibility.
