Amazon ECS Managed Daemons now support non-critical daemons
News
Amazon ECS now supports non-critical Managed Daemons for ECS Managed Instances, allowing mission-critical applications to run uninterrupted even when daemons fail.
- Configure daemons as non-critical so failures don't cause application task churn
- Non-critical daemon failures keep container instances active and allow new tasks to launch immediately
- EventBridge events and service action logs provide full observability into daemon health
- Create non-critical daemons via AWS Console, CLI, CloudFormation, or SDKs by setting critical parameter to false
- Available in all AWS Regions where ECS Managed Daemons are supported
Non-critical daemons enable reliable application execution while maintaining auxiliary services like logging and metrics collection independently.
