Amazon S3 now supports PrivateLink for FIPS endpoints

This article announces AWS PrivateLink support for FIPS-validated S3 endpoints, allowing customers to maintain compliance while keeping traffic within their VPC.

  • Use FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic modules when connecting to S3
  • Keep all traffic within Virtual Private Cloud for enhanced security
  • Create or edit interface VPC endpoints configured for FIPS S3 endpoints
  • Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), Canada West (Calgary), and AWS GovCloud (US)
  • No additional cost for this capability

Organizations with security and compliance requirements can now leverage FIPS-validated endpoints through PrivateLink for secure S3 access.
