AWS Storage Gateway now supports FIPS-compliant private connectivity for Amazon S3 File Gateway
News
AWS Storage Gateway now supports FIPS 140-3 validated endpoints over AWS PrivateLink for Amazon S3 File Gateway, enabling private FIPS-compliant connectivity for regulated workloads.
- File Gateway can reach Storage Gateway service endpoints privately through FIPS interface VPC endpoints
- Create NFS and SMB file shares with end-to-end FIPS-compliant private connectivity to Amazon S3
- Requires gateway software version 3.2.7 or later for FIPS PrivateLink endpoint activation
- Available in eight AWS Regions including US East, US West, Canada, and AWS GovCloud
This launch simplifies compliance for regulated workloads by keeping FIPS traffic on private AWS networks instead of the public internet.
