Amazon Aurora DSQL now supports partial indexes

News

Amazon Aurora DSQL now supports partial indexes, enabling you to build indexes over specific table subsets rather than entire tables.

  • Create indexes on qualifying rows using a WHERE clause in CREATE INDEX
  • Reduces index storage costs while maintaining query performance
  • Ideal for tables with small working sets and large historical data
  • Aurora DSQL automatically uses partial indexes for matching queries
  • Available in all AWS Regions where Aurora DSQL is offered

Partial indexes optimize performance for tables containing active and historical data by indexing only the relevant subset.
