AWS Agent Registry now supports custom metadata for registry records

News

AWS Agent Registry now supports custom metadata for registry records, allowing organizations to extend every registry record with custom structured fields for improved governance and discovery at scale.

  • Publishers can record fields like team ownership, data classification, and review status on registry records
  • Define a schema once per registry with common attributes, then extend with type-specific fields
  • Each field supports free text, URLs, Booleans, or choices from allowed values
  • Registry validates required fields and values on every record creation or update
  • Filter search results on custom metadata fields via AWS Console, CLI, SDKs, or MCP endpoint
  • Available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Europe (Ireland)

Custom metadata enables consistent resource discovery and governance for organizations managing hundreds of agents, MCP servers, and related resources.
