Amazon CloudFront announces dual-stack support for VPC origins, enabling end-to-end IPv6 delivery to private origins without internet exposure.
- Send IPv6 traffic to ALBs, NLBs, and EC2 instances in private VPC subnets
- Maintain security by keeping origins private while supporting IPv6 architecture
- Previously CloudFront only supported IPv4 connections to VPC origins
- Available in all AWS Commercial Regions where VPC origins are supported
- No additional cost for dual-stack VPC origins
Customers can now meet IPv6 requirements and regulatory compliance without sacrificing the security benefits of private VPC origins.
