Amazon CloudFront has announced VPC origins, a new feature that enhances application security and performance for AWS customers.
- Allows delivering content from applications hosted in private VPC subnets
- Supports Application Load Balancers, Network Load Balancers, and EC2 Instances in private subnets
- Eliminates the need to keep origins in public subnets
- Simplifies security management and reduces operational complexity
- Available in AWS Commercial Regions with no additional cost
- CloudFormation support is coming soon
This feature enables customers to use CloudFront as a single front door for applications, improving security while maintaining high performance and global scalability.
