Amazon CloudWatch announces support for including alarm tags in action payloads and EventBridge events, enabling customers to route and filter alarm notifications by tag without additional lookups.
- Alarm tags are added to messages sent to SNS, Lambda, and EventBridge when alarm state changes
- Eliminates need for ListTagsForResource API calls to correlate tag metadata with alarm events
- Configurable per alarm with options to include all tags, selected keys, or exclude specific keys
- Supported for metric, composite, and log alarms
- Available in all AWS Regions except Middle East (UAE) and Middle East (Bahrain)
