AWS WAF announces automatic SDK integration for Amazon CloudFront distributions, automatically injecting the JavaScript SDK without code changes.

  • CloudFront automatically adds AWS WAF JavaScript SDK script tag to served HTML
  • Supplies client-side signals for Bot Control, Fraud Control ATP, and ACFP managed rule groups
  • Eliminates per-application manual script tag maintenance across releases
  • Available for web ACLs with CloudFront and applicable managed rule groups
  • Configurable via Console, CLI, SDK, CDK, or CloudFormation
  • On by default for new web ACLs; off by default for programmatic creation
  • No additional charge for this feature
