AWS Compute Optimizer has launched a new feature to help users identify and clean up idle resources across various AWS services, aimed at reducing unnecessary costs.
- Supports idle recommendations for Amazon EBS volumes, ECS Fargate tasks, EC2 instances, Auto Scaling groups, and RDS instances
- Provides a centralized view of idle resources across accounts and organizations
- Carefully defines "idle" for each resource type using specific utilization metrics
- Includes a new "Idle" recommendations page in the Compute Optimizer console
- Integrates idle recommendations into Cost Optimization Hub
The feature helps FinOps teams easily identify and remove unused resources, potentially leading to significant cost savings with minimal risk.
