AWS News Blog
AWS has introduced a new feature for Amazon EBS snapshots that allows users to specify a time-based completion duration for snapshot copies between regions and accounts.
- Copy duration can range from 15 minutes to 48 hours
- Supports use cases like testing, development, and disaster recovery
- Users can create time-based copies via AWS Management Console, CLI, or API
- Default account throughput limit is 2000 MiB/second
- Maximum per-snapshot throughput is 500 MiB/second
- Available in all AWS regions
The feature provides more predictable and consistent snapshot copying, helping organizations meet specific time-based compliance and business requirements.
