Introducing default data integrity protections for new objects in Amazon S3

AWS News Blog

AWS has introduced default data integrity protections for new objects in Amazon S3, enhancing network transmission security and data verification.

  • Automatically calculates CRC-based checksums for object uploads
  • Verifies data integrity before storing objects in S3
  • Works with latest AWS SDKs, AWS CLI, and AWS Management Console
  • Supports CRC32, CRC32C, and new CRC64NVME checksum algorithms
  • Provides consistent checksum validation for single and multipart uploads
  • No additional cost and available in all AWS regions

This update simplifies data integrity checks by automatically computing and storing checksums, eliminating the need for manual verification across client applications.
