AWS CloudTrail now supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6)

News

AWS CloudTrail now supports dual stack connectivity using both IPv6 and IPv4 protocols for API endpoints.

  • Enables connections using IPv6, IPv4, or dual stack clients
  • Supports private API endpoint access through AWS PrivateLink
  • Facilitates gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6 systems
  • Helps meet IPv6 compliance requirements
  • Eliminates need for complex network address translation equipment
  • Available in all commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) regions

The update addresses the growing exhaustion of IPv4 addresses by providing flexible networking options for CloudTrail users.
