Introducing cross-account targets for Amazon EventBridge Event Buses
Compute Blog
Amazon EventBridge now supports cross-account targets for Event Buses, allowing direct event delivery to services like SQS, Lambda, and SNS in different AWS accounts.
- Previously, cross-account event delivery required intermediary event buses or bridging components
- New feature enables direct event delivery to targets in other accounts
- Requires establishing mutual trust between source and target accounts using IAM roles and resource policies
- Supports targets like SQS queues, Lambda functions, and SNS topics
- Simplifies event-driven architectures and reduces latency by removing intermediate processing steps
The new capability allows for more streamlined cross-account event processing with enhanced security and governance controls.
