AWS Marketplace launches automated version archiving for AMI and container products
News
AWS Marketplace has launched automated version archiving for Amazon Machine Image (AMI) and container products to streamline version management for customers and sellers.
- Product versions restricted for over two years will be automatically archived
- Archived versions cannot be launched by new customers
- Existing users can still use archived versions through launch templates and Auto Scaling groups
- Versions unused for 13 months will be permanently deleted
- No additional action is required from sellers
The feature helps reduce the risk of using outdated product versions and simplifies product management for sellers by automatically removing older, unused versions.
