AWS has announced detailed geographic information for all AWS Regions and Availability Zones to help customers make more informed infrastructure decisions.
- Currently has 114 Availability Zones across 36 Regions
- Plans to add 12 more Availability Zones in New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and European Sovereign Cloud
- Provides specific location details for Regions and Availability Zones
- Helps customers in regulated industries meet data residency requirements
- Geographic information can be found on AWS Global Infrastructure website and documentation
The update enables more transparency about the physical location of AWS infrastructure, supporting customers' compliance and operational needs.
