AWS has announced a new capability for Amazon EventBridge and AWS Step Functions that enables direct integration with private APIs using AWS PrivateLink and Amazon VPC Lattice. This feature simplifies secure communication between services within private networks.

  • Allows direct invocation of private HTTPS endpoints within a VPC
  • Enhances security by keeping APIs within private networks
  • Eliminates the need for proxy solutions like Lambda or SQS
  • Supports both single-account and cross-account private API integrations
