Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus now supports label-based active series limits

News

Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus has introduced label-based active series limits for workspaces, providing enhanced metric management capabilities.

  • Allows allocation of specific active series limits to different metric producers
  • Protects critical metrics by throttling only specific labeled metric sets during unexpected surges
  • Example: Limit metrics for a specific application like {app="payment-service"}
  • Enabled through new Workspace Configuration APIs
  • Includes ability to manage data retention periods

The feature is now available in all AWS regions where Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus is generally available, helping users more precisely control and manage their metric ingestion.
