Amazon CloudWatch Synthetics now supports Java runtime (syn-java-1.0) for creating canaries to monitor service availability and performance.

- Supports modular step execution with built-in metric generation
- Provides queryable logs and optional X-Ray tracing
- Designed for non-browser use cases, making canaries lightweight and fast
- Compatible with Java build tools like Maven and Gradle
- Supports deployment via Synthetics APIs, SDKs, and infrastructure-as-code tools
The Java runtime is now available in all commercial AWS Regions where CloudWatch Synthetics is supported, offering developers more flexibility in monitoring their applications.
