Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) has expanded its Global Clusters feature to support up to 10 secondary Regions, improving scalability and availability for globally distributed applications.
- Previously limited to 5 secondary Regions, the new limit allows for a larger global footprint
- Enables disaster recovery from Region-wide outages
- Provides fast local reads for globally distributed applications
- Remains a fully managed, native JSON database service
- Simplifies operating critical document workloads at scale
This update enhances Amazon DocumentDB's capabilities for customers with complex, geographically distributed database requirements.
