Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) has expanded its Global Clusters feature to support up to 10 secondary Regions, improving scalability and availability for globally distributed applications.

  • Previously limited to 5 secondary Regions, the new limit allows for a larger global footprint
  • Enables disaster recovery from Region-wide outages
  • Provides fast local reads for globally distributed applications
  • Remains a fully managed, native JSON database service
  • Simplifies operating critical document workloads at scale

This update enhances Amazon DocumentDB's capabilities for customers with complex, geographically distributed database requirements.
