Amazon EBS has introduced a new feature providing visibility into EBS volume initialization status when creating volumes from snapshots.
- Allows tracking of volume initialization process after restoring from snapshots
- Shows when storage blocks are fully downloaded from Amazon S3 and written to the volume
- Helps predict performance and reduce I/O latency during initialization
- Enables users to time application launches for optimal performance
- Available through AWS Management Console, CLI, and SDKs
- Supports all AWS Regions, including GovCloud and China Regions
This feature provides greater transparency and control over volume performance when initializing EBS volumes from snapshots.
