AWS launches public preview of Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS)

AWS has launched the public preview of Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), enabling customers to run VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)-based workloads within Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC).
- Allows migration of non-production workloads with VCF license portability
- Provides a guided workflow to deploy a fully-functional VCF environment on AWS
- Supports external storage solutions like Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP
- Currently supports VCF version 5.2.1 and i4i.metal instances
- Available in five regions: US East, US West, Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Europe (Frankfurt)
Environments deployed during the public preview will carry forward to general availability without redeployment, offering a seamless transition for customers.
