AWS News Blog

AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), a new service that allows running VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments directly within Amazon Virtual Private Cloud.

  • Enables customers to migrate VMware workloads to AWS without re-architecting applications
  • Provides full control over VMware environments on AWS infrastructure
  • Supports seamless workload migration without changing IP addresses or operational processes
  • Currently supports VCF version 5.2.1 running on i4i.metal instances
  • Available in multiple AWS regions with pricing based on used EC2 instances

The service simplifies VMware cloud migration by allowing customers to maintain existing VMware expertise and tools while leveraging AWS's scalability and services.
