AWS has announced the general availability of new Amazon EC2 M8i and M8i Flex instances powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, offering significant performance improvements over previous generations.
- Up to 20% higher performance and 15% better price performance
- 2.5 times more memory bandwidth compared to M7i instances
- Up to 60% faster for NGINX web applications
- Up to 30% faster for PostgreSQL database workloads
- Supports up to 384 vCPUs and 1.5 TB memory
- Available in multiple AWS regions including US East, US West, and Europe
M8i and M8i-Flex instances are ideal for web servers, virtual desktops, batch processing, microservices, and enterprise applications, with M8i-Flex offering a lower-cost alternative.
