AWS Control Tower now supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6)

AWS Control Tower now supports IPv6 addresses, offering new capabilities for network connectivity and addressing:

  • New dual-stack endpoints allow connections using IPv6, IPv4, or both
  • Existing IPv4 endpoints remain available for backwards compatibility
  • Supports the growing need for IPv6 in mobile, IoT, and connected device environments
  • Increases available network addresses to prevent overlapping address spaces
  • Available in all regions where AWS Control Tower is supported

This update enhances network flexibility and addresses the industry-wide transition to IPv6, providing more robust networking options for AWS customers.
