Amazon Detective now supports AWS PrivateLink for private API access

Amazon Detective now supports AWS PrivateLink, allowing users to securely access Detective API services through private VPC endpoints without internet traversal.

  • Available in all AWS Regions where Detective is supported
  • Users can create VPC endpoints via VPC console, API, or SDK
  • Creates an elastic network interface with a private IP address
  • Provides a secure entry point for Detective traffic

Key features of Amazon Detective include:

  • Automatically collects log data from AWS resources
  • Uses machine learning and graph theory for security investigations
  • Analyzes events from VPC Flow Logs, CloudTrail, EKS audit logs
  • Groups related findings from GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Inspector

The new PrivateLink support enhances security and privacy for Detective users.
