AWS Directory Service now supports IPv6 connectivity for Managed Microsoft AD and AD Connector, enabling more flexible network configurations.
- Supports IPv4-only, IPv6-only, and dual-stack directory configurations
- Helps organizations meet U.S. federal agency IPv6 transition mandates by 2025
- Eliminates complexity of maintaining separate IPv4 and IPv6 network stacks
- Allows customers to upgrade existing IPv4 directories to dual-stack via VPC subnet settings
- IPv6 capabilities available across all AWS Directory Service regions
- Accessible through Console, CLI, and API
The update enables organizations to modernize network infrastructure and comply with evolving security standards more easily.
