AWS has announced warm pool support for Auto Scaling groups (ASGs) with mixed instances policies, offering enhanced application scaling capabilities.
- Enables creation of pre-initialized EC2 instances ready to serve traffic quickly
- Supports ASGs with multiple On-Demand instance types
- Improves application elasticity and scaling efficiency
- Particularly beneficial for applications with lengthy initialization processes
- Available through AWS Management Console, SDKs, and CLI
- Supports all public AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
The feature allows faster scaling by maintaining a pool of pre-configured instances across multiple instance types, enhancing application availability and performance.
