AWS has added IPv6 support for Amazon S3 Gateway and Interface VPC endpoints, addressing the growing need for more internet addresses.
- IPv6 provides significantly more available addresses compared to IPv4
- Customers can configure endpoints to use IPv6 or Dualstack
- Amazon S3 automatically updates routing tables with IPv6 addresses
- Supports both gateway and interface endpoints
- Available in all AWS Commercial and GovCloud (US) Regions
- No additional cost for implementation
- Can be configured via AWS Management Console, CLI, SDK, or CloudFormation
