Amazon CloudWatch Logs Insights now supports saved queries with parameters

This article announces that Amazon CloudWatch Logs Insights now supports parameters in saved queries, enabling reusable query templates with placeholders.

  • Define up to 20 parameters per query with optional default values
  • Pass different values to query templates without maintaining multiple copies
  • Example: Create single template for severity levels, pass different service names
  • Execute parameterized queries using $ prefix with parameter values
  • Combine multiple saved queries with parameters for complex log analysis
  • Available in all commercial AWS regions via console, CLI, CDK, and SDKs
