This article announces 23 new query commands and functions for Amazon CloudWatch Logs Insights, enhancing log analysis capabilities.
- New hash functions: md5, sha256
- String functions: strcontains (case-insensitive), split
- Conditional logic: if statement support
- Conversion functions: toNumber, toInt, toLong, toDouble
- IP functions: ipv4ToNumber, isPrivateIP, isPublicIP, isReservedIP
- Analytics functions: rate, count_over_time, sum_over_time, offset, histogram
- Parse functions: CSV, XML, multi, values, addtotals
- New "limit any N" syntax for fetching first N results
- Support for up to 10 stats commands per query
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions
CloudWatch Logs Insights now offers comprehensive tools for conditional processing, string manipulation, IP analysis, and complex log analytics.
