This article announces 13 new commands and functions for Amazon CloudWatch Logs Insights, enhancing log query and analysis capabilities.
- New string functions: startswith, endswith, case, regex_replace for text manipulation
- New numeric functions: round for calculations
- Encoding/decoding functions: urlencode, urldecode, base64encode, base64decode
- New parse command: parse logfmt for structured log parsing
- New analysis commands: expand for nested JSON arrays, relevantfields for high-cardinality logs
- Haversine function for calculating geographic distances between coordinates
- Available immediately in all commercial AWS Regions
CloudWatch Logs Insights now offers enhanced string manipulation, encoding, parsing, and geographic analysis capabilities for deeper log insights.
