Amazon SES now helps identify automated open and click events in event notifications
News
Amazon SES now helps identify automated email interactions by adding an isBotEvent field to Open and Click event notifications.
- isBotEvent field indicates whether events were triggered by automated systems or human recipients
- Field values are "Likely" or "Unlikely" for bot activity classification
- Available for customers publishing events through configuration set event destinations
- Automatically included in all AWS Regions where SES is available
- No additional configuration required for existing event publishers
This enhancement enables better understanding of engagement metrics by distinguishing human interactions from automated bot activity.
