Amazon ECS now supports Amazon S3 Files for tasks running on the Amazon EC2 launch type, enabling direct access to S3 data as a shared file system.
- Connect containerized applications to S3 data using standard file system semantics
- Run file-based applications, AI agents, and data processing workloads on S3 without code changes
- No need to duplicate or stage files before processing
- S3 Files support now available across all three ECS launch types: EC2, Fargate, and Managed Instances
- Built on Amazon EFS for full file system semantics and low-latency performance
- Works with new and existing S3 data with no migration required
- Available in all AWS commercial Regions and AWS GovCloud (US)
This extension provides consistent S3 Files access across all ECS launch types, simplifying data access for containerized workloads.
