Amazon EMR Serverless now supports IPv6 and dual-stack connectivity
News
Amazon EMR Serverless now supports IPv6 and dual-stack connectivity for running Apache Spark and Hive jobs in Amazon VPC.
- Run Spark and Hive jobs over IPv6 using dual-stack or IPv6-only subnets
- Dual-stack connectivity accepts both IPv4 and IPv6 for gradual IPv6 adoption
- IPv6-only subnets eliminate IPv4 address constraints and meet compliance requirements
- Available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where EMR Serverless operates
- Supported on all EMR Serverless release versions with full backward compatibility
This enhancement provides greater flexibility for connecting applications to data stores while addressing IPv4 exhaustion and compliance mandates.
