Amazon RDS for Oracle and SQL Server now support storage autoscaling on additional storage volumes
News
Amazon RDS for Oracle and SQL Server now support storage autoscaling on additional storage volumes, automatically scaling capacity in response to growing database workloads with zero downtime.
- Add up to three additional volumes to increase storage capacity up to 256 TiB
- Automatically scales storage when utilization approaches provisioned capacity
- Eliminates need for manual provisioning based on anticipated demands
- No additional charges; pay only for provisioned storage resources
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US)
- Enable via AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, or Amazon RDS API
RDS storage autoscaling for additional volumes eliminates over-provisioning and under-provisioning risks while reducing operational overhead for Oracle and SQL Server databases.
