AWS has introduced Amazon CloudFront VPC Origins, a new feature that enables secure content delivery from applications hosted in private VPC subnets.
- Allows direct content serving from private subnets using Application Load Balancers, Network Load Balancers, or EC2 instances
- Eliminates the need for complex security configurations and public IP addresses
- Provides a managed solution to make CloudFront the sole ingress point for resources
- Available at no additional cost
- Can be configured through AWS CloudFront console or AWS CLI
- Currently supports resources in the same AWS account
This feature simplifies application security and delivery, reducing complexity while maintaining high performance and global scalability.
